8mm & 10mm Soft Copper Pipe Inserts

Part Number: TM4178/TM4172

KEY FEATURES:

  • Essential when installing copper pipe
  • Ensures air tight joints when using compression fittings
  • For use with 10mm pipe (8mm ID)

8MM & 10MM COPPER PIPE INSERTS – BRASS

Quality British manufactured 10mm copper pipe inserts for oil pipes. Approved by OFTEC to ensure airtight joints.

To ensure a leakproof oil line when installing copper pipes, it is always recommended to use 10mm copper pipe inserts when making compression joints in the line.

These ensure a tight seal and means the olive does not crush the copper pipe when being fitted.

INSTALLATIONS

The most important part of any domestic liquid fuel-fired heating system is the fuel supply pipes. Installing them and maintaining them correctly is important, it ensures safety and reliability. Another important factor of a correct installation is that it avoids the risks of leaks, which could cause pollution and can be expensive to clean up and fix.

The best fuel supply pipes for domestic installations are typically made from plastic-coated soft copper tubing, this is because it can be easily moldable.

See the OFTEC website for more information on system installations.

BEST PRACTICE

A fire valve is a fundamental safety feature of a domestic oil heating installation. It stops the fuel supply in the event of a fire or if the system overheats. These fire valves should be installed outside the building, before the point of entry with the capillary leading into the boiler housing.

Another essential product that sits in line is a deaerator/Tigerloop. In an oil heating system using a Tigerloop, all oil passes through the automatic oil de-aerator, which effectively removes all gas/air bubbles from the system. This eliminates oil pump and nozzle problems associated with gas/air in the oil. This creates a cleaner flow of fuel into the boiler and improves efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
