How does it Work?

AdBlue Dry Break Coupling

Purpose

The dry break coupling is designed for plastic and steel storage tanks to manage the refuelling process for AdBlue® efficiently and safely, preventing spillage and contamination.

Automatic Operation

When the delivery hose is connected to the tank, the dry break coupling automatically opens and closes, allowing the fluid to flow and seal.

Spill Prevention & Safety

The dry break system eliminates the risk of spillage during connection and disconnection by sealing the hose and tank as soon as they are disconnected.

Material & Compatibility

Made of 303/304 stainless steel, ensuring durability and corrosion resistance. Seals are designed to be compatible with DEF/AdBlue®, preventing degradation over time.

Other Features

Atkinson Equipment has responded to the growing demand from tank manufacturers by introducing the AdBlue Dry Break Coupling –  for use with both plastic and steel storage tanks. With the increasing need for larger AdBlue® storage systems that are refilled on-site, this solution offers a safe and efficient method for handling bulk deliveries.

The Atkinson Dry Break Coupling for AdBlue® is engineered to automatically open and close when the delivery hose is connected or disconnected. This design helps prevent spillage and cross-contamination during the filling process. Once the hose is connected to the tank, the dry break coupling opens automatically to allow for filling. After the fill is complete, it closes automatically, securely sealing both the tank and the hose to eliminate spillage.

This coupling ensures minimal liquid loss during disconnection, even if the hose is connected or removed mid-fill, and it reduces the risk of contamination.

The DBC-1000-AB, constructed from 303/304 stainless steel, features seals compatible with DEF/AdBlue® and can be used as a fill point on top of the tank or horizontally in an offset fill system. It’s designed for OEM applications and can be retrofitted on-site, making it compatible with existing hose connections in the field.
